Copper-Nickel: Welding and joining plate, sheet and pipe
Tack weld every six inches to hold gap. A more recent advancement in pulsed welding is synergic or variable pulsed welding. Two commonly used weld joints and procedures are shown in Figure 2 and Figure 3. As with the other arc welding processes, the high conductivity, lower nickel alloys require currents on the high end of the range.

Description: The corresponding UNS numbers are shown in Table 5. The geometry of the surface to be covered and liner thickness dictates to a large extent the lining method. Currents on the high side of the range are favored for the higher conductivity, lower nickel content alloys. Oil- or grease-base contaminants must be removed by solvent cleaning. Lead-tin and tin-antimony solders are used for Cu-Ni alloys.
